Opportunity
Pacific Community Resources Society is seeking a part-time Key Worker to support youth and families impacted by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and Complex Developmental Behavioral Conditions (CDBC). In this role, the successful candidate will provide education and resources tailored to the unique needs of children and families, while offering emotional and practical support to empower families as advocates for their child. The Key Worker facilitates regular parent and caregiver support groups, one to one in home counselling support and delivers community-based training on FASD and CDBC. A strong understanding of Indigenous Cultural Safety, family and community systems, as well as skills in family counselling and advocacy, are essential for success in this position.
Flexibility is required, as hours may go into the evening to accommodate family needs and group sessions.
Qualifications
- Key Workers will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, or related field such as Counselling, Psychology, from a post-secondary institution of recognized standing and two (2) years directly related experience.
- Excellent knowledge of/experience working with people impacted with FASD, Community services and public presentation.
- Sound knowledge of/experience with case management, family counselling and support theories
- Criminal record check including the vulnerable sector
- Valid BC driver’s license with business insurance use
- Use of own vehicle (mileage is paid); Driver’s abstract must be submitted
