Regular Full Time (35 hours weekly)  |  Grid 13 ($30.86 - $32.18/hour)  |  Reporting to: Manager of Employment Services

Opportunity

Pacific Community Resources Society is seeking an energetic and engaging Employment Facilitator to compliment the team at the WorkBC centre and support other Employment programs as necessary. The Employment Facilitator facilitates online group and one to one workshops relating to life skills, job search and career development topics. This position will work with clients with multiple complex barriers to employment.

The Employment Resource Facilitator will be responsible for researching and providing suggestions for curriculum changes to program leadership. The facilitator will research and provide up to date labour market information, group and individual activities, and monitor online workshops. This position allows for creatively finding solutions to equip participants with varying needs with the tools they need to find sustainable employment. It is imperative that the Employment Facilitator demonstrates the ability to support a diverse population, clients with complex needs to employment and takes initiative to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for clients and staff.

Qualifications

  • BA or Degree in a related field and Career Development Practitioner Certificate or equivalent 
  • 2+ years’ experience facilitating workshops to an audience with diverse levels of abilities with an inclusive and strength-based approach.
  • Experience managing a classroom of adults and youth with multiple complex barriers with a trauma-informed approach. 
  • Experience and Certification to deliver life skills workshops/counselling, career development advising, and job search to diverse individuals or with multiple barriers and complex needs
  • Extensive knowledge of employment training programs and their curriculum of life skills and employment readiness
  • Strong knowledge of the Labor Market and ability to build strong resumes and cover letters.
  • A high degree of emotional intelligence as well as a natural ability to connect with participants and work with a diverse team. 
  • MS Office and overall computer proficiency including data administration utilizing complex databases, specifically the Integrated Case Management (ICM) system.
  • Criminal Records Check including Vulnerable Sector.

  • De-Escalation/Non-Violent Intervention Training
  • Familiarity with Employment Assessments
  • Motivational Interviewing and Solution-Focused Counselling
  • Understanding of the impacts of trauma, addictions, and housing support services
