Opportunity
Foundry is an integrated youth services (IYS) initiative for youth ages 12-24 throughout British Columbia. Foundry removes barriers and improves care pathways for youth by supporting co-location and integration of existing resources and services for five core streams: physical and sexual health, mental health, substance use, peer support and social services.
Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Centre, the Site Operations Lead is responsible for the supervision of staff, strengthening and expanding community partnerships, and the sustainability of the program overall. The Site Operations Lead will have a strong understanding of Integrated Youth Services including primary care and experience working within this model. They will help lead the Foundry team to develop and implement strategies that ensure effective service delivery and consistent evaluation of program operations to achieve the outcomes of the program. This position collaborates closely with the Manager and leadership team to promote best practices, ensure high-quality services and fiscal viability of the program. The successful candidate is dynamic, skilled, and experienced, able to connect with diverse communities, including Indigenous, newcomer, and LGBTQ youth to ensure they feel safe, supported, and connected. This position requires working evenings and occasional weekends based on operational need and is not available for a remote work agreement.
Responsibilities
Operational Oversight:
- Ensure day-to-day site operations run smoothly, including space management, supplies, and administrative systems.
- Support the centre manager in the development of the annual program budget, authorize and monitor expenses.
- Develop systems to ensure efficient and effective processes that support smooth operations and delivery of programming on site.
- Identify gaps in service delivery, based on engagement with youth and families and co-develop strategies to address these gaps, through advocacy, program development, partnerships, and external resources.
Service Coordination:
- Facilitate scheduling, logistics, and communication amongst 25+ organizations delivering services at the site including a primary care clinic.
- Engage in ongoing program planning, development,
- Provide leadership, mentoring and consultation to the centre’s interdisciplinary service providers, students, and partners from the Integrated Youth Services lens.
- Represent Foundry Surrey at community tables, working groups, and within the Foundry BC network to strengthen partnerships and promote integrated service delivery.
Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with partner organizations, staff and youth.
- Ensure effective partnerships are developed and maintained, through active participation on committees and/or groups related to the community, including Foundry BC network, as well as through ongoing informal liaison with program partners and other staff.
- Foster a collaborative team environment by proactively addressing conflicts, facilitating open communication, and implementing effective resolution strategies.
Leadership:
- Proven ability and experience leading and developing engaged, collaborative and effective interdisciplinary staff teams including primary care teams.
- In conjunction with the centre manager, select and hire new staff and provide orientation and training for staff as needed. Provide input to the program manager on performance evaluations and help identify and support the development of staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as (social work, public administration or health sciences), combined with at least five (5) years' experience in a leadership position.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in operations coordination, program administration, or community services.
- Basic First Aid Certification
- Class 5 Driver License and submission of a Driver’s Abstract
- Criminal records check including the vulnerable sector
- Demonstrated experience in program management, staff leadership, fiscal management.
- Strong knowledge of clinical and primary care services as part of an inter-disciplinary team.
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
- Excellent time management skills: ability to balance multiple, often conflicting priorities.
- Works within a trauma informed framework.
- Effective team building and mentoring skills.
- Experience creating and working within a culturally inclusive environment for staff, partners, and participants.
- Strong verbal, interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and administrative systems.
Additional Assets
- Familiarity with resources across Surrey
- Experience in community engagement and facilitation
- Communication skills including social media.
- Experience with philanthropy including fund development, stewardship and recognition.
- Experience with grant and proposal writing
- Knowledge of the Foundry BC network
- Experience with an EMR and room booking software
