Database and System Administrator

Quality Assurance and Technology, Vancouver Head Office

Regular Full Time (35 hours weekly)  Grid 22 ($39.14 - $40.80/hour)  |  Reporting to: Director, Technology and Social Impact

Opportunity

The Administrator will collaborate closely with the Director of Technology and Social Impact to support the rollout of productivity projects within Salesforce and Microsoft applications (e.g., MS Teams, MS SharePoint). The goal is to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of data collection, improve data cleansing processes, and strengthen overall data management within Microsoft systems and Salesforce. The Administrator will also work with the Information Technology (IT) and Quality Assurance teams to ensure proper support and seamless execution of these initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administration, maintenance, and support of Salesforce and Microsoft systems and databases in collaboration with the Information Technology (IT) and Quality Assurance (QA) departments.
  • Identify system issues, gaps, and inefficiencies that may impact user experience and productivity. Use analytical skills to diagnose root causes of problems.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and workflows. Propose and implement, in collaboration with consultants and staff, technical solutions that bridge system gaps and enhance user experience across various teams and programs.
  • Support the quality teams to provide support to end-users by troubleshooting system issues and offering solutions. Create user guides, training materials, and training sessions to ensure users can effectively utilize systems.
  • Work with the Director of Technology and Social Impact on ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and reporting from Salesforce.
  • Continuously assess the performance of systems and databases. Propose and implement optimizations to improve efficiency, scalability, and user productivity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, understand workflows, and deploy system updates or changes that support diverse user needs.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in system administration, database management, or IT support, with specific experience in Salesforce and/or Microsoft technologies (e.g., Office 365, SQL Server, SharePoint, Power BI).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with diverse teams and translate technical solutions into user-friendly terms.
  • Proficiency in database management, system troubleshooting, and administering software applications.
  • Ability to understand the needs of different users and work across various programs, balancing technical requirements with productivity goals.

Additional Assets

  • Salesforce Administrator or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certifications are a plus.
  • Familiarity with integrating systems and data across different platforms (Salesforce, Microsoft, other third-party applications).
