Repair and Maintenance Technician

Regular Full Time (35 hours weekly)  |  Grid  ($28.28 - $32.18/hour)  |  Reporting to: Bruce Ratcliffe, Facilities Coordinator

Opportunity

 

The Repair and Maintenance Technician provides a variety of site duties to ensure our spaces are safe, welcoming and comfortable to our staff and participants. Facilities roles within PCRS is to ensure our spaces support vulnerable young people in our community. As you are part of a larger team, it is also important that you are a team player who gains satisfaction when working with others to achieve team goals. The successful candidate will have the ability to work in an atmosphere of respect and sensitivity. Our ideal candidate has the confidence to understand the tools and supplies needed to complete most repairs. As this roles works alone, it is important to be self-motivated and be aware of the details within the scope of work.  

 

Responsibilities

  •  Perform regular preventative maintenance duties for sites across the lower mainland.
  •  Proven experience in painting and drywall repair.
  •  Experience with minor plumbing and electrical work.
  •  Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  •  Ability to perform physical tasks including bending and lifting up to 50lbs.
  •  Well organized with excellent communication/listening skills both written and verbal.
  •  Excellent problem solving, time management, forecasting timelines, working independently.
  •  Must be comfortable with and have experienced working alone
  •  Literate in Office 365, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint. 

Qualifications

  • Previous trades experience or trade certifications.
  • Criminal Record Check, including the vulnerable sector.
  • Class 5 driver’s license and abstract. 

Additional Assets

  • A background in not-for-profit sector is also an asset.
